WHY THE LOCALS LOVE WHISTLER

Everyone who lives in Whistler is passionate about what they love, be it their sporting life style, their partying, and even work, but most of all what ties Whistlerite's together is the passion that everyone holds for their community. We all argue for what we think is best although we may not always agree with one another.

Whistler is a unique place. The lifestyle breeds healthy people with a thirst for pushing the limits. I love Whistler year round, but I would have to say the summer is the best time for this guy. I have way more time to spend with friends and the lifestyle isn't nearly as busy as the winter. What I enjoy the most about Whistler is going for a beer and knowing the bartender, going to buy milk and bread and it taking an hour because you see ten friends on the way. I truly love this place and I consider it my home.

The community is what I love most about Whistler. There's a lot of very nice, laid-back interesting people up-here. Plus, there's always something to do, no matter what the season.

FIT IN! – "to do or not to do" Tips from the locals

  1. DON'T ride your bike or skateboard in the village.
DO walk your bike and carry your board.

  2. DON'T ask…"Where is dual mountain?"
DO ask…"Should I go up Whistler or Blackcomb Mountain today, which is your favorite?"

  3. DON'T litter.
DO recycle… please and thank you!

  4. DON'T flick your cigarette butts out into the forest.
DO respect our forest as it is home to the locals and many animals.

  5. DON'T feed the bears, don't leave garbage outside!
DO throw your garbage away and give respect to the bears by giving them space.
