WHISTLER LOCAL`S
FRESH POWDER SECRETS TRAILS!
Whistler or Blackcomb today? Well, that is a tough decision and all
depends on my mood or if I’m trying to avoid a holiday rush
and influx of people, especially on a pow day.
Blackcomb - Gray zone to Fraggle Rock to Cancer
Man... Crystal Zone just because I had the most amazing days in that
run and when you get to excel lift you are spent!
Whistler - Cake Hole.... quite the ways.... great
times if you feel like going to function on your skis! Best powder
turns ever!

Whistler - The Dave Murray Downhill where the ski
patrol doesn’t bat an eye if you tuck down the run at jacket flapping
speed weaving between slower locals and tourists alike. It's actually
encouraged.....it's called the downhill after all.

Whistler: Kybers is my favourite run on Whistler.
It seems like you can always find some fresh lines in the trees.

Blackcomb: As a snowboarder, I used to prefer Blackcomb
because it is so steep and some of my favourite runs / short hikes
are found there. Fraggle Rock, a short ride down and only a short
5 minute hike to some fresh pow on a powder day or the day after a
pow day, some fresh snow can be found. Body Bag on the backside of
the Blackcomb Glacier will always be one of my top favourites – I
have never been heli-skiiing but I imagine it to be this. The back
side of the Blackcomb Glacier, accessed by the Showcase T-bar, has
some of the best runs on the Mountain. I can spend all day back there
doing a 45 minute hike up and coming down through 7th heaven into
Ziggy’s meadow and back again to find fresh lines all day and
fun booters.
Whistler: I love Peak to Creek run and all the trees
to the left side of the run when you’re heading down the hill. Kybers
is awesome for fresh lines in the trees. The trees are very well spaced
and gives you plenty of room to turn. I could do runs in here all
day and not even go to the other side of the mountain. The creekside
gondola always has less line ups and I love to finish the day by drinking
a ceasar at Dusty’s and eating some wedges with the infamous “butt
rub sauce.

FAVORITE SNOWMOBILING SPOTS
My favorite area is Brandywine Backcountry for
snowmobiling. It's access to the widest range of ridding. Ridding
in the "hill climb hill" area is the best: far away from
the crowds, steep and deep! And for snowboarding, the Brandywine is
best because no lifts, no line-ups, no people!
