WHISTLER BEACHES
The typical definition of a beach isn`t what one would
apply to Whistler beaches, BUT what we call a "beach" provides
the same basic fun and entertainment... sand, water, lounging areas,
volley ball nets, picnic tables, barbeque pits and best of all, locals
& tourists soaking in the sunshine!
The Whistler beaches are fun- great place to pick up men! For those
who want to get away from the family scene, the local nude dock at
lost lake is a fun place to enjoy the sun!

One of the best places in the world to play beach volleyball isn't
even on a beach! Its Rainbow Park. Rainbow Park mixes
breath taking views, picnic and BBQ areas, a concession stand, with
three of the best sand courts I've ever played on.

Well you can't beat the scenery at Rainbow Park.
Oh yeah and the views are amazing too! A little out of town so it
has more of a local touch. Beach Volleyball, frisbee, swimming, and
more, this place is great for a sunny summer day. Lost Lake is perfect
for anyone that doesn't have all day and are already in the village.
A cozy little lake situated in the middle of a great hiking path and
tonnes of X-country biking trails. If you have a car, Brohm Lake is
a must! Just off of highway 99 North of Squamish, this lake offers
great sunbathing and beautiful water temperatures. Most importantly,
Brohm Lake is host to the coolest rope swing in the Sea to Sky Corridor,
and offers cliff diving for the faint at heart and thrill seakers.

MOUNTAIN BIKING
CROSS CROUNTRY TRAILS
River Runs Through it - Where: West side trail,
Why: Near the village, easy access, you have the option to ride it
easy or to really push yourself, great trail that you can link with
other trails in the valley.

I gotta say that I can never get enough of A River Run's
Through It. Right in the middle of Whistler it's a pretty
mellow ride winding your way through the Emerald Forest. Make it as
technical as you want, ride it backwards, or just finish with a short
pedal to Rainbow Park for a swim and take in the view of the lake
with Whistler and Blackcomb in the background. (That is, if you can
get your eyes off all the hard bodied locals lying in the sun)

My favourite mtb trail, river runs through it, fun
for anyone that can ride a bike, it is just off Westside road.

My favourite mountain bike trails are in Pemberton, a little satellite
community of Whistler located 30km north of Whistler. All the trails
in Pemberton are rated extreme but these are the trails that I learned
to bike on, and with a hard tail! If I can do it, so can you! I love
the trails around Mosquito Lake, there are dozens of them but one
of my all time favourites is – Cream Puff, ha ha,
sounds easy but the trail is really steep and there are some really
cool rock drops and smooth rocks to ride. I also love Lumpy’s
which is located just on the hill at One mile Lake – this is the first
lake you see when you enter Pemberton. You can park at the lake and
jump on your bike from there, head to the right side of the lake and
up the hill. It is a hard single track climb and a fun downhill single
track. The whole ride takes about 2 hours or longer, depending on
your fitness ability.

DOWNHILL RIDING – THE BIKE PARK!
My favourite Whistler Blackcomb Mountain bike park run would be Dirt
Merchants, you spend more time in the air than on the ground.

To only pick one favorite trail in Whistler is hard, but I would
have to say that my favorite run in the bike park is starting at the
top of Garbonzo wth No Joke connecting to Original Sin, then
Goats Gully, In Deep, Middle and Lower Frieght Train, Dirt Merchant
and then finish off with lower A-line. It a long and ride
that has a little bit of everything.

HIKING TRAILS
Hiking...you can get some amazing views from accessing Whistler
mountains lifts, but really you should get away. Joffre Lakes
is a great 45min drive north through Pemberton and Mt. Currie, and
from there up the Duffy Lake Road.Once you park and start hiking you'll
pass the first of three lakes almost immediately and 2 1/2 hours later
you'll be at the third of these magical lakes which rests at the foot
of a looming glacier. )

One of my favourite hikes is The Chief in Squamish,
40 minutes south of Whistler in located between Vancouver and Whistler.
The first time I hiked The Chief, I was literally out of breath from
the strenuous climb up and remained out of breath after I saw the
view. You really feel as though you are on top of the world up here.
You can see the winding sea to sky highway, massive mountain peaks
with the bases protruding out of the ocean, something I have never
seen in other parts of the world – where ocean and mountains meet.
The Shannon falls are visible and the peak of Garibaldi Mountain.
Make sure you take plent of water and a power bar. It is a short hike
depending on your fitness level 1 hour to 1.5 hours, but it is straight
up! Just like doing stair master at the gym, ugh…but so worth it!
Try and do this hike on a clear day because the view makes all the
work worth it.

Singing Pass is a great hiking trail! It brings
you up along Fitzsimmons Creek, the natural divide of Whistler and
Blackcomb, and offers spectacular views from the top of the trail.
This trail is great for anyone, especially people looking to test
out their mountain legs for the first time. Just ask a local, they
will give you directions.
Brandywine Falls is great place to take in the
sites. It offers a brilliant view of Cheakamus Lake (I think it's
Cheakamus Lake) and provides an opportunity to explore the temperate
rainforest in British Coloumbia. Just 15 mins South of Whistler Village
by car, Brandywine Falls also has more than 10km of hiking trails.
You can even check out the Cheakamus Suspension Bridge.
